  • In a national level, ministry of education has a vision of producing all rounded, competent and problem solver youths from the university that can supposed to be a remedy to all the vicious circles the country has. To meet such growing demand, there is no doubt that information collection, including professional inputs and dissemination through various media outlets is essential for the rapid development of a country. In fields such as agriculture, health, and education, communication staff and media practitioners are in high demand. Developing economies and pluralistic countries like Ethiopia need a better communication system and an inclusive flow of information. The fact that a country can develop an effective communication atmosphere lies with training professionals who are capable of assisting societies to achieve common understanding in enhancing development. As a result, it is important that there shall be a training institution for experts in the field of media and communication.

It is from this lingering inquiry that the program of Journalism and Communications is commenced in Ethiopia in general and Samara University in particular.
