Samara University’s annual community service week under the motto of “we are serving the community diligently” has been started today by providing blood donation and veterinary medical services.

The president of the university, Mohammad Usman (PhD) opened the community service week program and officially started blood donation program of the day.

The president in his speech addressed that blood donation is a priceless gift for the needy and that is why we launch the week long community service program with such invaluable activity which also prove that we are truly serving the community.

Research, Community Service and UIL V/President Dr. Betelhem Dagnew, said that “The existence of Samara University is depending upon the presence of the Great Afar community, so that each of the university’s activities is designed with the aim of serving the local community.

She also noted that decision has been made to partially cease regular activities in the university, and most due their attention to this annual event with the assumption of increasing teamwork and being a role model for others in addition to the major target of the event, serving the community.

Today, February 27, designated as “Health Day”, the morning session has celebrated in the university campus with blood donation, as well as animal treatment and veterinary services held in Dubti district.
