       Program Objectives

The post graduate program aims to train and produce competent professionals on the area of marketing management who will be able to contribute in the regional and national efforts of marketing and business development. It aims: 

  • Acquaint students with the knowledge of how to develop business concepts to thedevelopment modern business practices.
  • Provide required skills and techniques in saving lives and protect livelihoods in theevent of disasters and ensure the recovery and rehabilitation of all disaster-affected
  • Enable the students undertake problem solving and policy enhancing researchesfocusing on combating the business related fields to support the region and at national level.

            Graduate Profiles

The curriculum of the program designed with the view that graduates who successfully complete their study shall be able to: –

  • Apply fundamental marketing concepts and marketing management approaches in domestic as well as international marketing issues and practices.
  • Capable of analyzing & interpreting marketing research projects  to solve business and marketing problems in order to  position their respective companies at a competitive advantage,
  • Develop, implement and control company’s promotional campaigns effectively,
  • Discover, design and follow-up new product developments as well as develop systems to enhance their brand equity
  • Conduct research and consultancy service in marketing and related areas and offer training for those who are in need of it
  • Develop and implement global marketing systems to help company’s international business in general and export activities in particular
  • Develop marketing plan for various organizations based on objective assessments.
  • Apply sales forecasting techniques for different sales territories operating at a national and international level.
  • Construct, formulate, implement and control marketing strategies effectively,
  • Develop export marketing strategies and marketing plan for different export oriented companies.
  • Capable of understanding the legal, social and ethical responsibilities associated with the marketing.
  • Capable of using information communication technology in marketing
  • Capable of collecting, analyzing and interpreting statistical data using various statistical tools for marketing research
  • Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the nature, type and the development of rapid changing business world.
  • Identify, collect and compile information through archives, field survey; data to successfully manage problems associated with
  • Care for ethical values, and provide leadership role models in national, regional and localdevelopment with a clear understanding of values and needs of the country.
  • Highly committed to self-employment and self-development through the continuous acquisition of knowledgeand experience and able to survive in an environment of continuous change in a rapidlyevolving society;
  • Have basic understanding on fundamental national issues and sustainable development.
  • Respect and protect local values, traditions and wisdom as well as involvement of localpeople in decision making
  • Work with various stakeholders in mobilizing and training the society to how to do their own business.
  • Provide consultant services in marketing and business related concepts for Pastoral Development
  • Teach in higher education institutions

                    Admission Requirement

The program is interdisciplinary by its nature and therefore individuals who have BA or BSc degree in any field from an accredited university with a Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) equivalent to 2.00 and above can apply to it.

Selection for admission into the MA Program in marketing management is made on the basis of the candidate’s performance in the entrance examination.

            Graduate requirement

A candidate should be able to satisfy the criterion stated below to be grantee an MA degree in marketing management.

  • Completion of 32 credit hours of course works and six (6) credit hours in MA thesis related works or 59 ECTS.
  • Scoring a cumulative GPA of 3.00 and above with only one grade “C”or two “C+”.
  • students are expected to produce MA thesis of accepted standard at the end of theprogram
  • successfully defend his/her thesis in public and score a minimum of ‘satisfactory’grade
  • Above all, the graduation requirements will be bound by the Samara University’s
    Legislation
